Maintenance TipsEngine OilIt is very important to ensure that the oil level doesn’t drop below the minimum markings.
Steering & SuspensionYou must check that the steering moves smoothly when the handle bars are turned. Make sure that you also check that the front and rear suspension operates smoothly when you sit on the bike. CoolantThe coolant level should never fall below its minimum unless the system has developed a leak.
TyresThe correct tyre pressure is essential on any bike. Tyre pressure should always be checked when they are cold-never after riding because the pressure increases when hot. Also give a quick check for general wear and tear.
Lights & HornCheck that all light, brake lights and indicators work and don’t forget also the horn. BrakesAlways check the brakes individually. Their application must be firm and they must be fully applied without the lever (front) or pedal (rear) reaching its full travel. They must also free off completely when the lever or pedal is released and allow the wheels to turn freely without drag. Drive ChainMost bikes have chain drive to the rear wheel. It is always important that the chain is well lubricated and doesn’t have much free play.
