Today's journey was quite a straightforward one; northwest of Glasgow, across to Edinburgh.
After yesterday's 200 miles we had a great night's sleep on the first bed of the week! After a sleep in and a walk around the edge of Loch Lomond we had a big breakfast. The breakfast was great, but Loch Lomand was better. Stunning scenery up here. We've taken lots of photos; something we're not always able to do on the road.
After playing with the SatNav's for 20 minutes this morning (we eventually figured out you have to enter 'Scotland' as a country) we set off for the 80 mile journey. We skipped lunch and enjoyed the drive through more hilly scenery, and great weather. Actually, the best weather we've had on the trip has been in Scotland. After figuring out the SatNav problem we had full confidence in all this technology and duely followed all directions given. 2 hours later, in the middle of a housing estate, we were told by voice in the box 'You have reached your destination'. After more playing with the SatNav, and slightly more riding we arrived at our real destination.
We did have one small problem with one of our bikes today. We lost a gear selector going around a round about. As the parts are interchangeable on our bikes, 10 minutes later we were back to riding. Other than that, all the bikes have been running really well. Very smooth, and starting every time.
We've unpacked now, and have a long day tomorrow, so we're going to spend the rest of the day exploring Edinburgh.
